MGM Grand Casino Hotel

The MGM Grand Las Vegas is a casino hotel located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. MGM Resorts International runs this casino and hotel resort, which is owned by Vici Properties. The casino and hotel resort were built by Kirk Kerkorian through his company, MGM Grand, Inc. Kerkorian had already built another MGM Grand, which debuted on the Strip in 1973 and was renamed Bally’s in 1986. The new MGM Grand’s planning began in 1989. The resort opens its doors on December 18, 1993. With more over 5,000 rooms, it was the biggest hotel in the world when it first opened. Except for a fourteen-story portion that debuted as the Marina Casino Hotel in 1975, the casino hotel is mostly thirty floors high.

South Point Casino Hotel & Spa

Situated south of the Las Vegas Strip on Las Vegas Boulevard in Enterprise, Nevada, lies the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa (previously South Coast). The creator of Coast Casino hotels, Michael Gaughan, owns and runs this casino hotel. Following their 2001 purchase of the land, Coast Casino hotels revealed the South Coast project in April 2003. A year later, construction began. Later, Boyd Gaming and Coast Casino hotels merged. It cost $625 million to build the South Coast. When it opened on December 22, 2005, it featured a casino and hotel resort totaling 80,000 square feet (7,400 square meters) with 652 rooms. A second casino hotel tower opened the next year.
